There are a large number of media players available in the market and everybody understands the kind of good a media player on their websites can do for them. No doubt, if you are looking to buy a player, you’re confused which one to go for. We try to make things a little easy for you. We purchased, tried and tested some of the most popular players.
JW FLV Player, a rather popular FLV Player, pretty much met our expectations and we’re quite satisfied with it. It’s easy to use, and supports FLV, MP4, MP3, AAC, JPG, PNG and GIF formats, apart from HTTP, RTMP and live streaming and a lot of other stuff with ease.
The skins can be changed according to users’ tastes, although it could do with a few more skins to choose from. It being free of cost for non commercial purposes and not giving too many problems has made it an obviously widely picked choice.
When we used the player, we tested it with various versions of firefox. Installation is a fairly easy process, and for anyone who gets stuck, there are detailed easy to follow instructions on the internet. It does however; give problems when you upgrade your system. The support is good, but since this belongs to an individual and not an enterprise or company, it is obviously not as stable as something that a company might have to offer.
The thing that’s not at all nice about this script is the fact that the free version is only for non commercial purposes, so you can’t legally use the player without paying a hefty sum for a license! There seem to be a lot more players with equally good features, but for a lesser price. Overall, we were quite satisfied, except for the license bit which really gets to anybody who wants to use it to make money on their site.
