Facebook became the first social network with millions of adherents throughout the world. Its weakness tallies with a lack of security, that’s the reason why a lot of software programs are regularly born, to answer companies’ needs.
Socialengine is a social network you can personalize. Its goal is to give 100% control of the social network. The data are totally protected against advertisings. The webmaster can customize the design of the software as he wants it to be, without showing or promoting the Socialengine logo. A lot of features (blog, albums, groups, messages) exist and webmasters can choose to keep them, add or cancel them as they want. But be careful, each module cost at the least 40$. That’s its drawback. The design is similar to the one on Facebook, however all can be changed and that’s a point very appreciated, described as unprecedented. Your network can be really unique. If you want to change the social network, the team quickly gives you the link for that and the upgrade seems to be easy.
The company’s software team, based in Los Angeles, tries constantly to improve Socialengine and proposes regular updates.
There is a free test period for 15 days, but past this delay, the software will cost 250$ and it’s only for the license.
A critic said on a blog: “this is definitely a very solid choice and one of the better options in the market today. It’s also very reasonably priced at about $250 for a license”. But one other webmaster considers the real price is about 580$ to have more modules and not just the basic installation.
Socialengine seems to be a cost-effective investment for the lovers of innovation, and from our testing, we can say that it would be worth it if that’s what you are looking for.
