You’ve decided you want to start a youtube like site of your own. You’ve understood you can make loads of money with one. So what do you do now? Which of the so many scripts do you buy? We did some research of our own, and here’s what we found. Let’s make your job easier by telling you what the most popular scripts are like, so you can make your choice.
Videoshare, a popular youtube clone script is sold by a company called Altrasoft, which also sells a number of other software. They offer a lifetime license on purchase of their script, but give free updates only for a year. It’s priced at $199 and they remove copyright for free.
Apart from video, videoshare also has photo and audio sharing options, so users aren’t restricted to videos alone. However, there are better scripts available in the market, which might be a little more expensive, but offer a much larger range of features, that include social networking as well.
Installing the software, we encountered some problems, and the support was quite unsupportive. They charge a big amount of money for support services, while many others offer them for free if you’ve bought their script.
It’s fairly customizable, and offers multi lingual support too. The default design resembles youtube, but could definitely do a lot better. It has an internal messaging system, where members can send messages to each other, but can’t be relied on most of the time.
