Vidpart is yet another youtube clone script available in the market.
From the admin point of view, there’s quite a bit of control over the script, including approving videos before you allow them to go up on your site. So if your site is about games and activities for children, you can ensure no unrelated material is uploaded. Webmasters can juggle things around quite a bit, decide what order they want things in on their site, how videos and members are to be sorted, and the like.
The video player supports a large number of video formats. Uploading videos is simple, but too slow and could be worked on. There is an internal messaging system that users can choose to use, but it’s not very impressive and cannot really be trusted too much. Users can also download videos, but again, it’s quite troublesome.
The initial cost of buying it is $145, and you keep paying extra for everything else - $50 for installation, another $50 for server set up et al. It’s owned by a company, so that we know that they’re not going to sell it to you and go hide somewhere, but the support is very unimpressive. They’ve been around for about 10 years now, but don’t seem to have updated their products or website regularly. They offer a demo version for users to view pre purchase, but it doesn’t work most often. They don’t really offer any updates to customers and after sales services are unimpressive.
We would recommend you look at the other available scripts before making up your mind, as vidpart doesn’t give a very positive impression of itself.
