As video sharing sites increase in number by the day and more people want to own one of their own, sometimes dedicated to specific genres, we look into some of the more popular video sharing scripts.
The script ‘visualcaster’ is a youtube clone, and is made by iscripts.com. This is a part of the company – Armia Systems Inc, headquartered in Chicago.
The default design of the script is fairly good, although it’s very basic and could do a lot better. Although the requirements for installation of the script aren’t too many, we did encounter problems and had to contact the support for help. They were helpful enough, but it took us a while to get across to them because the support team works from India, and it take some time for them to follow exactly what you want. They also need to get quicker and more efficient with their work.
The usual features of rating and commenting on videos are inbuilt.
One striking feature is the money back guarantee that the company offers, if customers are not satisfied with the product. Although we didn’t have to return their product, we can tell you that it’s not that easy tog at all your money back, you need to be able to give them solid justification and proof.
At $47, it is very fairly priced, and they offer one year of free support and updates. However, they do charge an extra $50 if you want them to install it for you, and another $300 for removal of copyright. The script is not very powerful, and can’t withstand too much traffic. So if you are looking at making a closed site, meant only for a limited number of people, you could try visualcaster.
